Continuous Conversion . . . unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven —Matthew 18:3 These words of our Lord refer to our initial conversion, but we should continue to turn to God as children, being continuously converted every day of our lives. If we trust in our own abilities, instead of God’s, we produce consequences for which God will hold us responsible. When God through His sovereignty brings us into new situations, we should immediately make sure that our natural life submits to the spiritual, obeying the orders of the Spirit of God. Just because we have responded properly in the past is no guarantee that we will do so again. The response of the natural to the spiritual should be continuous conversion, but this is where we so often refuse to be obedient. No matter what our situation is, the Spirit of God remains unchanged and His salvation unaltered. But we must “put on the new man . . .” (Ephesians 4:24 ). God holds us accountable every time we refuse to convert ourselves, and He sees our refusal as willful disobedience. Our natural life must not rule— God must rule in us. To refuse to be continuously converted pu=s a stumbling block in the growth of our spiritual life. There are areas of self-will in our lives where our pride pours contempt on the throne of God and says, “I won’t submit.” We deify our independence and self-will and call them by the wrong name. What God sees as stubborn weakness, we call strength. There are whole areas of our lives that have not yet been brought into submission, and this can only be done by this continuous conversion. Slowly but surely we can claim the whole territory for the Spirit of God.
in CHRiST,
Kristy and Timothy July 23, 2010: does this count as annoying?flup...flup...flup didomail is NEVER ANNOYING:)
how is everyone's summer coming along? learning lots from summer school? having lots of fun on vacation? physically tired from the volunteer work? HOPE EVERYONE IS ENJOYING their last few weeks of JULY. this friday's program is... BIBLE BONANZA so don't forget to bring your bibles and ready your hearts/minds to learn about Perseverance(this month's theme)
DIDODEVO: “Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
James 1:2-4
James states that perseverance is the product of faith being tested with many trials. While nobody likes being challenged on their faith, James says to “Consider it pure joy”. He says this because perseverance makes a soul “mature and complete”. This is the necessary food that will help you grow spiritually. It can change you from a spiritual baby to a spiritual soldier, that does “not lack anything”. But in order for it to do this, you must face trials and when you do, you must have faith in God, for only faith can produce perseverance. What is faith then? Faith is trusting in God without doubt and believing that whatever trials you face, God will always be there to bring you through. This does not mean that you can sit down and float through the trial however. In order to overcome a trial, one must act in the defense of one’s faith. And in order to defend your faith, one must be armed with the Armor of God that is listed in Ephesians 6:10-18. Whenever you face a trial, use Ephesians 6:10-18 as a checklist to make sure you have all of your gear (truth, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and righteousness). When you are armed, go out there and face your trial. When you have overcome every obstacle, you have persevered. This is one more step to becoming “mature and complete, not lacking anything”. REJOICE when you persevere. Don’t take trials as the world does. Be joyful at the chance to prove that God is the Almighty, the All-Knowing, and the Faithful. I challenge you to apply perseverance to your life and grow spiritually as you do. Be saturated in the Word of God. “Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, 18). If you want to apply perseverance to your life, pray and ask God to help you. God is good, and will “meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 4:19).

dido devotional: The Staggering Question
Can a sinner be turned into a saint? Can a twisted life be made right? There is only one appropriate answer— “O Lord God, You know” ( Ezekiel 37:3 ). Never forge ahead with your religious common sense and say, “Oh, yes, with just a little more Bible reading, devotional time, and prayer, I see how it can be done.” It is much easier to do something than to trust in God; we see the activity and mistake panic for inspiration. That is why we see so few fellow workers with God, yet so many people working for God. We would much rather work for God than believe in Him. Do I really believe that God will do in me what I cannot do? The degree of hopelessness I have for others comes from never realizing that God has done anything for me. Is my own personal experience such a wonderful realization of God’s power and might that I can never have a sense of hopelessness for anyone else I see? Has any spiritual work been accomplished in me at all? The degree of panic activity in my life is equal to the degree of my lack of personal spiritual experience. “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves . . .” ( Ezekiel 37:12 ). When God wants to show you what human nature is like separated from Himself, He shows it to you in yourself. If the Spirit of God has ever given you a vision of what you are apart from the grace of God (and He will only do this when His Spirit is at work in you), then you know that in reality there is no criminal half as bad as you yourself could be without His grace. My “grave” has been opened by God and “I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells” ( Romans 7:18 ). God’s Spirit continually reveals to His children what human nature is like apart from His grace. in Christ, kristy and timothy May 21, 2010: Missions Coffeehouse - EARLY START TIME

He headlined the humanitarian efforts of Band Aid and Live Aid to fight poverty in Ethiopia two decades ago. He continues to make a clarion call to all nations to stand as one as they fight poverty and AIDS in our world. Long before Bono called for people to stand as one to fight poverty, however, God through His servant Moses called His people, Israel, to stand as one to protect and provide for the orphan, widow, and the foreigner. Moses commanded the people not to withhold justice from these groups of people because they were landless and represented the most vulnerable in the land (Deuteronomy 24:17). Remembering their own years spent in slavery in Egypt—a time when they were vulnerable, helpless, and persecuted—was to motivate the Israelites’ sensitivity to and proper treatment of the poor (vv.18,22). One practical way they could meet the needs of the poor was through leaving the edges of their fields unharvested (vv.19-21). The edges provided food for the poor in the land. It was a way of showing generosity to the poor and gratitude to God for blessing the land. If they cared for the poor in this way, God would continue to bless their agricultural efforts, and it would express one aspect of holiness and their imitation of God (Leviticus 19:2). As followers of Jesus, we’re called to stand as one to protect and provide for the poor in our churches, neighborhoods, cities, and world. We can do that by volunteering our time and skill, opening our homes and lives, repositioning our financial resources, and leveraging our influence to satisfy the needs of the poor in our world. When we care for those in need in this way, we reflect the heart of our heavenly Father. Remember to be at church by 7PM!!!!! In Christ, Kristy and Timothy May 7, 2010: what you've got didomi is hard to find, i think about it all the time Hey didoMITES, Enjoying the hot weather?? I'm sure we ALL are!
